Hey, where is everybody? Not much is happening on this forum anymore. Tumbleweeds are blowing through it. Did everybody move to a new forum and forget to tell me?
Hello! (echo: hello! hello! hello! hello. . . . hello)
Swingutah.com's been pretty good lately...
I don't know, but it seems like most of the big posters here were denizens of two31, and when the Orem swinghouse packed up, the forum took a hit, too.
I don't suppose you're planning to show up at one of our dances any time soon?
Yeah, she'll show up, she'll just be late.
It would be nice if people regularly checked and utilized the forum for planning things. Maybe it could be promoted with links in the presidents email.
Yeah, it's funny... there's almost more traffic on the "contact us" form than posts to the forum.
Yeah, I'll be late getting there. (Like a couple of months late.) Sorry!
It does feel like this forum isn't so user friendly anymore. It's overwhelming when I first log on to see the list of unorganized topics flood my screen. It would probably be more attractive if we could have general categories again. Is that possible?
We still have the categories, they're just on the side. As a moderator though, it seems like 10% of threads are miscategorized by lazy posters.
The first thing I did on the old forum layout was click 'new posts since last visit'. Now they just show up at the top.
Mmmf! Wish I'd thought of that. I've still been doing SwingUtah the hard way, and opening each category with new posts in a separate tab...
I post on the other forum because I like the format better. Im not a fan of the change on here.
Elaborate. Is there a major usability difference? Does the lack of a post count diminish your impetus for posting? Has the new format chased people off?
Personally I think the largest problem I have with the new site is a lack of orange icons or such to note posts that you haven't seen yet.
That doesn't make sense... all the posts you haven't seen yet are white instead of blue, and as they come in, they're right at the top.
I wonder how much lurking we have compared to posting going on.
Not the overall forum list. I'm talking about individual posts. If you check out a busy thread like they have on swingutah right now, it's helpful to have each new post marked so you don't have to re-read old ones
