So I was trying to log in, and every time I typed a capital letter as part of my password, the page popped up an empty dialog box at me, and let me confirm nothing. It was kind of trippy.

there's a hack installed on this site that's supposed to alert you if caps lock is on when you're entering your password... we used to have some people who complained about forgetting.
the site has prob'ly forgotten what to tell you, so now it tries but doesn't know what to say.

And detects caps-lock as being on, even if it's just because you're pressing shift. Because you thought your password might have some capital letters in it.

So some bugs I think I may have noticed so far on the new forum:
Discussion not getting marked as read even after I have read them.
Live search doesn't appear to be working.
Traci's image thing (though I haven't seen that myself yet) -

that's the "mark all read" button... turns out it doesn't work so well.
actually, it does work well. but future readness of discussions doesn't work. the solution is to unmark all (it's on your account page). and don't use the "mark all read" link anymore.

When I was looking at a profile trying to figure out who posted something, I got this:
A fatal, non-recoverable error has occurred
Technical information (for support personel):Error Message
An error occurred while retrieving categories.
Affected Elements

looks like the database server might have gone away. it's prob'ly ready for summer as well...
